Tod Miner moved to Chicago in 1986. One night after an amazing experience at Medusa’s (a juice bar that featured industrial music), a new direction in his destiny was started. “I never heard music with such intensity.” He found himself dancing for 7 hours to this new, intense beat. He had finally found peace and calmness within his soul after a rough upbringing. Since then, music became his medication. “Music saved my life and it continues to rescue me from myself.” he says.

Tod attended local industrial shows religiously and hung out at Exit, Neo, Club 950 followed by Shelter, Kaboom and Crobar. Unfortunately by 1992, industrial music was fading. The newer bands just didnʼt seem to have the same edge. Tod decided that he would have to make his own music to keep his sanity. He didn’t have a clue on how to get started. Fortunately, he met a few teachers along the way. Frankie from My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult had become a great friend and helped guide him. He also met a local producer, Mark Pichiotti, founder of Mark! Productions. Mark showed him the basics of writing and production.

In 1993, Tod started writing his own music. WOD (Todʼs Band) was born and getting radio play on the Local Music Showcase with James VanOsdal on Q101. Zoltar (Q101′s industrial DJ) started taking notice. “He got me a manager and helped in putting together a band for live performances”. WOD started playing locally, doing shows at DOME ROOM and Crobar. They also started touring throughout the Midwest with Tony Duffy’s RACK show, which had a great bondage theme to compliment WOD. A year later WOD was picked up by 21st Circuitry Records and “No Peace Without The Beat” was released in 1998. It was at that time he approached DJ Teri Bristol and asked her to assist in producing the album.

At the same time, a new groove was taking the music community by storm. Bands like Underworld and The Chemical Brothers came out. His response to this growing scene was “I was like, this shit is sick!” Unfortunately, the rest of Todʼs band was still firmly routed in the Industrial sound. However, he couldn’t get this new stuff out of his head. Tod was about to sign a deal with Slipped Disc Records for a second WOD album when he decided to leave the Industrial vibe because he had become terminally infected by techno and house.

Todʼs first obstacle was that he wasn’t a DJ and had no idea how to write and produce dance music. He decided to reached out to some dance music producers, (Mark Pichiotti, Teri Bristol, Ralphi Rosario). These new connections would begin Todʼs journey into House, Techno and Electro. The first big hit, “Teenage Wasteland”  (MetalWorks Records) was written by Tod and Teri Bristol in his newly created studio, Priaprism Studio. “Priapic is my best way of describing my music”, says Tod with a sardonic smile. For several years, Tod and Teri Bristol worked together as a remix duo for Music Plant Records releasing multiple remixes as well as independent productions under each other’s names frequently charting on Billboard Dance. The hits include: India-Seduce Me, Georgie Porgie – I Love I Love, Personal Jesus and many more.

Todʼs first single, “Reach For The Sky” on Forever Soul Records was featured on Marco V’s Amnesia Ibiza Sessions Vol 1. It has also been a big hit on YouTube. Next came, “Go-Daddy-O!” (Music Plant Records), a number one break out on the Billboard Dance Chart which made it to #24. It went on to be featured in a national television commercial for Jazzercise. In 2008, “Luvinʼ Music”, (Music Plant Records) was featured on the March 2009 ERG DJ compilation and has enjoyed strong world wide club and radio play. In the last 10 months, Tod Minerʼs remixes have reached number one on Billboard. with songs such as: Georgie Porgie-“Can you Feel That Sound” and Kristine W.-“Love Is The Look” and The Perry Twins, “Bad Bad Boy” as well as countless others in the top 100.

Tod Miner worked feverishly in 2009-2010 in the studio and DJʼing all over the globe. As his remixes grow in popularity, the demand for DJ bookings and remixes has kept him constantly busy. In June, 2009, “Totally Numb” received rave reviews on BillBoard reaching #26 setting the tone for a long lasting career. In 2010, Tod released BeatKeeper, “In My Head EP”, (A darker and dirtier sound from Tod) and “Lose Your Mind” as well as Tony Cruzʼ hit single, I Wanna Be The One”, Poison, by Wayne Taylor and several other remixes, (See Remix Portfolio). Tod also began a weekly residency on 1Club.FM internet radio and a monthly residency in South Florida.

2011 has been full of new remixes for Kristine W., Linda Clifford and many other hot house performers as well as his own new single, Feel The Sound, (June 2011), and several other upcoming projects.
